Lost in the Crowd

When I moved to New York City in 2022, I felt lonely and disconnected. I would walk down the bustling streets, watching groups of people laughing over brunch and mimosas. How did they meet those people? I thought to myself. And how do I find my people?

New York City felt like a paradox. How could there be so many people in this city, but I couldn’t find a single person I genuinely connected with? Or to have long, meandering coffee walks with? Or who would be willing to gossip about dating with, or to mourn about how lost we feel in our quarter-life crises?

I thought people in the city were cold and closed off. But everything changed when I decided to host my first craft circle in Washington Square Park. Over the next year, I brought together 400+ crafters—and I met my closest friends along the way.

Finding Your People:

In this newsletter, I share stories on building community in NYC—about nurturing authentic connections and finding the people you want to grow old with.

Maybe you don’t feel like NYC is home. Or maybe you just haven’t found your people yet. The magical thing about NYC, though, is the city opens up to you after you find even 1-2 people you really vibe with. I know your people are here.

This newsletter is about how to find them, and what to do after it happens.
